CPI Heredia,
accredited DELE Examination Centre

WHAT IS DELE?
Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera.

The "Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE)", issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry for Education and Science, are official qualifications accrediting levels of competence and command of the Spanish language.

They are the only officially accredited qualifications issued by the Ministry for Education of the Kingdom of Spain that are administered internationally. They are recognized worldwide by private companies, chambers of commerce and public and private educational systems.

The Instituto Cervantes has established collaborative agreements with the relevant departments of the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Education, as well as with other academic institutions of international prestige in the teaching of Spanish, especially regarding the production of examinations and evaluation.

Preparation Program for the "DELE" exam at CPI

CPI offers a preparation course for the "DELE" examination. This preparatory course is available at each of the 3 CPI campuses: Heredia, Monteverde, and Flamingo.

The program includes oral and written exercises along with extensive practice taking past DELE exams. Because this test is very important for you, CPI has created a program model that is easily customized to your personal needs and abilities, permitting the professor to systematically clear up your individual doubts about the DELE exam topics.

Our DELE preparation course starts with a placement test on the first day of classes; based on the results, the evaluator will recommend the appropriate DELE exam level for which the student should prepare.

It is not enough you speak Spanish to take the DELE exam; you  need to master different techniques to gain a better understanding of the examination. Also, our CPI professors have taken training courses from Instituto Cervantes to be prepared to teach you the different subjects that the DELE exam covers, for example: write an essay, write a letter, specific vocabulary, discuss cultural and political topics, and many other subjects that the preparation course would cover.

CPI offers 2 different schedules:

INTENSIVE COURSE:

  • One-on-one classes total 4 hours per day, 5 days per week beginning at 8:00 a.m. and finishing at 12:00 p.m., with a 20 minute break at 10 a.m. This intensive course is recommended for candidates that do not live in Costa Rica, but they want to take the exam in Costa Rica.

CPI recommends to take this course for 4 weeks. Students who wish to prepare for the exam in less than four weeks may qualify depending o their Spanish level and background.

PRICE OF THE INTENSIVE COURSE: Preparation for the DELE exam: Minimum 2 weeks-40 hours: $880 / 3 weeks-60 hours: $1320 /  4 weeks-80 hours: $1760.

Lodging and tours are offered separately.

For more information regarding reservations, please contact the Admissions Department

REGULAR COURSE:

  • One-on-one classes from 2 or 4 hours per week. This course is recommended for foreigners that already live in Costa Rica. You choose your schedule according to your personal itinerary; classes available from Monday through Saturday until 8:30pm.
